Fujifilm Provia 100F 120 Slide Film (E-6)
Fujifilm Provia 100F 120 is a professional medium format colour slide film (E-6) known for its extremely fine grain, high sharpness, and natural colour reproduction.
Compared with Velvia, Provia delivers more neutral colours and slightly lower contrast, making it one of the most versatile slide films ever produced. It's a favourite for landscape, travel, architecture, and studio photography where accurate colour and detail matter.
Price is per roll.
Why photographers love Provia
Provia sits right between colour negative film and Velvia on the saturation scale. It's punchier than negative film but far more natural than Velvia — ideal for photographers who want slide film colour without everything looking like a National Geographic cover from 1993.
Skin tones stay believable, greens stay realistic, and blues look fantastic. It pairs especially well with medium format cameras like the Hasselblad 500 series, Mamiya 7, Pentax 67, and Rolleiflex.
A bit of film history
Fujifilm introduced Provia 100F (RDP III) in 2000 as an update to their original Provia stock. It quickly became a staple for professional editorial and commercial photographers thanks to its colour accuracy and extremely fine grain. Even today, it remains one of the very few professional colour slide films still in production.
Processing
Provia requires E-6 slide film processing. If you're shooting anywhere in Australia, we process E-6 in-house at Ikigai Film Lab in Melbourne using Fujifilm E-6 chemistry — no need to send your film overseas.
Common questions
Does Provia 100F need special processing? Yes — Provia is a slide film and requires E-6 processing, not standard C-41. We offer E-6 processing in-house at our Melbourne lab.
Can I push Provia 100F? Yes. Provia handles push processing well, from –0.5 to +2 stops. A one-stop push to ISO 200 is a popular choice for slightly more contrast and colour saturation.
How does Provia compare to Velvia? Velvia is known for punchy, saturated colours — great for nature and landscapes but can look oversaturated for portraits or travel. Provia is more neutral and natural, making it the more versatile everyday slide film.
