At Ikigai Film Lab, we’ve been processing E-6 in-house in Melbourne for close to a decade. We don’t send your slide film away, and we don’t treat it as an afterthought. E-6 is a specialist process, handled by a lab with years of experience working with reversal film.

Our E-6 process

We use professional Fujifilm 6 bath chemistry and run control strips to keep the process consistent. Our E-6 workflow is built around the realities of modern slide film volumes, with careful chemistry control and close process monitoring, rather than a one-size-fits-all system designed for much higher throughput. With slide film, that attention matters, and it shows in the colour, density and contrast of the final result.

As more labs move away from true in-house slide processing, we remain one of the few labs in Australia still offering true in-house E-6 processing. We process both 35mm and 120 slide film in-house, with Melbourne drop off and Australia-wide mail-in service available.

We don’t just process slide film, we shoot it too. Much of our own product photography is shot on slide film, because we love the colour, contrast and clarity that makes slide film unique.
